As we all know that BCCI has announced the team for two matches of the upcoming 5-match test series vs England, let see the few surprising decisions of this selection taken by our new selection committee members.
Mr. MSK Prasad has already made an announcement earlier that few hard decisions are taken by the committee and some good call up is also done by the committee as retaining Gautam Gambhir in the test squad due to the injury of openers KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan. Most surprising call up is Hardik Pandya in place of injured Rohit Sharma to strength the middle order and also the bowling department as he is performing well in ODI’s and T20’s. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also not selected due to injury.
Some other players who are performing well in Ranji Trophy but not been considered in Indian squad for this test series are feeling hard . Let see a look of some players who have been ignored by the selection committee.
1. Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey is well known for his performance in IPL as he became the first Indian to score a hundred in the IPL. He has been regularly doing well in Ranji for Karnataka but yet waiting for his test debut. He has made over 5000 runs in domestic cricket with an average of about 50.
He had been also performing well in ODI’s for India. His match winning ton of 104* against Australia in this year was his one of his best inning. But in the last series against New Zealand he failed to deliver a good inning for him. So it may be possible cause to not choose him in this series.
