IPL 2017: Kolkata Knight Riders appointed Lakshmipathy Balaji as his bowling coach for the upcoming season of Indian Premiere League. He replaced Pakistani Cricket legendary bowler Wasim Akram.
Akram is out of IPL 2017 due to his personal reasons and time problem. He was appointed bowling coach in 2010 and under his guidance team played very well and got the trophy two times.
Balaji is the former team member of Kolkata Knight Rider and also the part of the winning squad in 2012. The CEO & MD of KKR said, “Its great to welcome Bala back to the KKR family.He was an integral part of KKR from 2011-13 & played a key role in helping KKR win the championship in 2012.”
Balaji feels very happy after this announcement and said, “I had thoroughly enjoyed my stint as a player for KKR and I am delighted to be back to the franchise that I have admired.”
